Quince fruit seedlings – Vranjska
The Vranjska quince is a variety known for its large fruits and vigorous growth. It ripens in October, producing very large, pear-shaped fruits with a hairy, golden-yellow skin.
The flesh of the Vranjska quince is yellow, slightly tart, sweet, and sponge-like, though its quality is somewhat inferior compared to other varieties, such as the Leskovac quince. The tree is vigorous, with large leaves, making it an attractive addition to an orchard.
This quince variety is sensitive to harmful insects, such as fruitworms, and its fruits are prone to bruising. The Vranjska quince is best pollinated by the Leskovac quince, which helps increase yield and fruit quality.
The Vranjska quince is a reliable choice for orchards that value large fruits and vigorous trees. Although it is sensitive to certain pests, its decorative appearance and tasty fruits make it a popular choice among fruit growers.
Available on rootstocks: Quince MA and Quince BA-29 (Provence).
