The kernel yield is around 46%, but this variety is quite sensitive to drought.

The tree of the Istrian Long Hazelnut is very lush and highly productive, yielding abundant and regular crops every year, often blooming very early. It is recommended to use Rimski hazelnut as a pollinator for this variety. The fruit husk is very developed – longer than the fruit itself, which makes harvesting difficult as the fruits do not easily fall out of the husk, considered a disadvantage for mechanized harvesting.
